![]() So, maybe it would depend on your application or what your ears like.Īlso, I recently picked up one of the new 50watt Vox Superbeetle amps and it holds its own with my AC15/blue, and no tubes to deal with. ![]() However, if I were still gigging, the 30 watts of clean headroom might have tipped the scales over the tone of the AC15. I played out with the vox for the first time last week. But, while looking for something a little smaller, lower volume, and lighter for smaller gigs, I picked up a Vox AC10C1. So, no longer gigging, the AC15 has enough clean headroom for my purposes.so I returned the AC30 as the Celestion blue is only rated 15 watts and I didn't want to start chasing speakers. 1 I've used a deluxe reverb for years, love the tone. IMO, the AC15/blue sounds better (for the 60's sound) but, as expected, the AC30 had more clean headroom. Then the AC30S1 came out shortly thereafter.so I ordered one on approval to compare to my AC15/blue. So I put a Celestion blue in it and the tone improved immensly to my ears.especially after it loosened up after a few weeks. Sounded pretty good stock but something was lacking to my ears based on the 60's Vox sounds I grew up with. I have the AC15CC that came with the stock Wharfdale speaker. What do you guys think about this? What would you do if you were in my shoes? I use a lot of strymon pedals and will be getting a RC-30 looper at some point too so it seemed the the FX loop was a huge plus. I don't gig out a ton as I'm more of a studio guy, so I don't neeed the 30 watts but what is nice about the AC30 is it has an FX loop. Am I missing out by skipping over an AC15 w/ Blues as they're both essentially the same price. However I don't know anything about this VX12 speaker. Today I played one of the new AC30S1's which is an AC30 with 1x12" Celestion VX12 speaker (supposedly its a custom voiced speaker for this amp) which sounded great to me. I've never heard the AC15C1X with the blues but supposedly that's the holy grail. I've played a VOX AC15C1 with the Celestion Greens and it was nice but kinda had this weird low mid thing I didn't like going on. ![]() I'm trying to decide which of these amps is right for me. I'm currently in the market for a guitar amp (I've mostly just been using modelers up until now) Musically I'm into anything from Rock n Roll to FX heavy indie, ambient, electronic type stuff. ![]()
